This is Akash’s second year as a Youth Program advisor. Akash has attended Camp Bharat as a camper, and he was also an YB counselor for three years, one of which as Vice President. His reason for getting involved was to “give back to an organization that gave me so much”.

This will be Vishaal’s first year as a Youth Board Adviser. Vishaal attended Camp Bharat for many years throughout his childhood and was also on the Youth Board for a year, during which he also served as the head of the Youth Committee. When he is not busy with official YB business, Vishaal can be found listening to music or re-watching episodes of Entourage. Vishaal hopes he can bring a fresh perspective to the board and show the kids they can be themselves while still getting work done.
Youth Program Director
My family moved to Seattle in 1982 and I have participated and performed in IAWW events from the start of the organization back in the late 1980s. As a teenager, IAWW was one of the platforms which gave me the opportunity to meet other kids with similar backgrounds and build lifelong friendships.
I am passionate about volunteering to make a difference. I was the PTSA treasurer for 2 years at Newcastle Elementary and joined the IAWW executive board in 2012 to give back to the community. IAWW has been an amazing and rewarding experience. I have served on the IAWW board as Secretary, Vice President and now as the Youth Program Director.
I started my career working at Microsoft while majoring in Marketing at the University of Washington and have held variety of roles at Microsoft over the years.
